2016-2017 Conference Dates
Accelerate Today. Impact Tomorrow.
Last year's conference at the University of Berkeley in California was our largest yet with over 260 students and professionals. But this year, we're planning for even more; more content, more speakers, more one-on-one connections, and more sustainability. This year, our conference theme is ACCELERATE. How can we accelerate a project from start to finish? How do we accelerate sustainble progress in our society to achieve the impossible? How can we work together and communicate more effectively to make a lasting impact? All of these questions and more will be answered at the University of Austin in Texas.
We're looking forward to seeing you there! Join us April 6-9, 2017. Keep an eye out in our montly newsletter, any ESW social media or your email for more details!
In addition to the Annual conference, ESW also plans regional conferences every year throughout our network. These regional conferences are smaller one to two day events that allow local chapters to brainstorm and problem solve collaboratively on sustainability issues. This year, we have two regional conferences planned for the fall.
2016-2017 North East Regional Conference --University of Rhode Island (Saturday, February 25th)
To discuss the future of our oceans and how we protect them, as well as to attend seminars focussed on sustainability. Engineers for a Sustainable World (ESW) is a professional organization whose mission is to create solutions to local and global sustainability issues by means of engineering, education, and communication. With the theme "Changing Tides: the future of our Ocean and how we protect it," the conference will showcase the unique engineering, oceanography, and other related resources that the University of Rhode Island possesses while stimulating thought about the relationship between sustainability and the future of the ocean. The objectives of the conference are to provide a venue for ESW chapters and people interested in sustainable design in the Northeast region to share ideas, network, and learn about innovative concepts.
