Sohn graduated from Cal State Long Beach in 2015 with his BA in English Rhetoric and Composition and Certificate in Technical and Professional Writing. In 2017, he graduated with his Masters in English Rhetoric with a special research focus on Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) and Engineering Writing. During his undergrad, Sohn worked as a Proposal Writer for LifeSmart Education – a nonprofit organization that serves underserved Ohio youth and young adults. He later served as a technical reviewer and grant writer for two years for Engineers Without Borders prior to joining ESW.
Sohn helped start a new ESW chapter at CSULB during his junior year. He loved working with engineers on the other side of campus and often found himself spending more time in the engineering lab than the English department. He became part of the chapter’s leadership first as the VP of Information Management, then later as Chapter President. As a Development Coordinator, he hopes to continue his passion on a national-level working to expand ESW’s reach to help more communities become sustainable (and also to make more awesome engineering friends).
Sohn currently works as a Proposal Coordinator for PacRim Engineering in Santa Ana, CA. Outside of working, Sohn loves to read, write, teach, and consume copious amounts of caffeine.
