MOOCs: Disruptive innovation or just disruptive?

One of the big happenings in college ed in the last year has been the rise of massively open online courses (MOOCs), with several companies forming to offer education to anyone! anywhere! for free! It's a big and complex topic because of how different the model is from standard teaching, and it's relevant to sustainability (and to ESW, I think).
