Starting a Chapter

Why start a chapter?

Starting an ESW chapter can be a rewarding experience for any ESW member. With a network of 2,000+ engineers who are committed to global sustainability, ESW's growth is largely due to the dedicated efforts of our chapter organizers. Initiating an ESW chapter will benefit you and your community, and will engage your peers in a powerful global initiative to build a better world.

By starting an ESW chapter, you will gain:

  • Organization and leadership skills
  • Opportunities for national recognition in ESW publicity
  • Access to other ESW chapter leaders
  • The opportunity to participate in projects connecting engineering and sustainable development
  • An experience of a lifetime!

Your local/campus community will reap these rewards:

  • Sustainable community development projects
  • Events educating the public about sustainability
  • An ability to show tangible efforts to teach and practice sustainability

And ESW will benefit from your efforts through:

  • Increased access to engineering students, faculty and professionals on your campus
  • The ability to further our mission through more chapter advocates
  • Increased membership in the national organization
